From 2011 to date, FLSL ENGLISH CLUB is a group of English language learners of the Department of English from the University of Letters, Languages and Humanities of Bamako (ULSHB-FLSL). The club is composed of:
The executive board; Active members and Mentors. Some members are from other departments, universities and professionals. This is what makes it a diversified and beautiful group of learners from different backgrounds.
Mission
- One of the fundamental goals of FLSL ENGLISHCLUB is to provide learners with a linguistic environment centered on practical activities while using English as the medium of communication;
- Inspire learners to better focus on their training and take actions to turn challenges into opportunities;
- Promote education in Mali with a particular stress on English (most widely spoken language in the world);
- Reinforce young people’s capacities(leadership and communication) in addition to their academic studies.
Achievements
- Helped hundreds of learners (pupils, students and professionals) improve not just their English skills, but also their communication abilities;
- Provided training opportunities to twenties of young people in:
- Foreign language (English) learning techniques;
- Leadership: personal development, goal setting etc…
The weekly activities
- The club meets once a week (Sundays) 12/12 for its ordinary activities at (Ex FLASH from 09 to 12);
- Organizes training workshops;
- Experience sharing sessions;
- Football games;
- Courtesy visits at its members’ and entertaining activities.

Spirit of brotherhood
Being an active member of Mali English Clubs’ Council (MECC), which is a national representation of English Clubs in Mali. FLSL ENGLISH CLUB is an advocate for creating and sustaining relationships with its fellow English Clubs. As a result, it has initiated, and hosted inter-club visits.
